How to stop social media snooping and the dark corners of the Internet

Social media companies are increasingly being watched by the government as potential tools for surveillance and abuse, as lawmakers in Congress begin to debate legislation aimed at cracking down on the Internet’s dark corners.

But some companies are taking steps to prevent government snoopers from accessing their services.

We’re joined by the head of the U.S. Government Communications Security Administration (GCSAA), Christopher Soghoian, to discuss how companies are protecting themselves and how we can stop them from abusing their power.
